Ingredients
Making Process
For the Cake Batter
  • Maida (All-purpose flour) – 1 ½ cups
  • Baking Soda – 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder – 1 ½ tsp
  • Cocoa Powder – ¼ cup
  • Eggs – 6
  • Sugar – 1 ½ cups
  • Vanilla Essence – 1 ½ tsp
  • Oil – ¾ cup

For the Frosting & Ganache

  • Whipping Cream – 1 cup (chilled)
  • Compound Chocolate – As needed (available in supermarkets)
Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter
  • Beat the Egg Whites – Separate the egg whites from the yolks and beat them until they turn light and fluffy.
  • Add Sugar – Gradually add 1 cup of sugar and beat until the mixture becomes creamy.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients – Add egg yolks (6), oil (½ cup), and vanilla essence (1 tsp). Beat gently until combined. Do not overbeat.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients – Sift together maida (1 ½ cups), baking powder (1 ½ tsp), baking soda (1 tsp), and a pinch of salt.
  • Fold the Dry Ingredients – Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. If the batter is too thick, add milk little by little to get the right consistency. Do not overmix.
Step 2: Baking the Cake
  • Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 180°C and preheat for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the Baking Pan – Line the baking pan with butter paper and pour the batter evenly. Tap the pan to remove air bubbles.
  • Bake – Place the pan in the oven and bake for 35 minutes.
  • Check Doneness – Insert a toothpick into the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
  • Cool & Slice – Remove the cake from the pan, let it cool, and then slice it into three equal layers.
Step 3: Frosting & Layering
  • Prepare Whipped Cream – Beat 1 cup of chilled whipping cream until it forms soft peaks and sticks to the bowl.
  • Make Chocolate Ganache – Melt compound chocolate with whipping cream in the microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  • Layer the Cake – Place one cake layer, spread ganache, and repeat for all layers. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
  • Final Ganache Drizzle – Pour melted chocolate ganache over the top for a rich finish.
  • Refrigerate – Chill the cake for at least 1 hour before serving.
